You can open Word documents to view and edit using Microsoft Word if you have it.
Otherwise, you can open Word documents for viewing only (you cannot edit the file) using the free Microsoft Word Viewer.
Alternatively, you can open Word documents for viewing and editing using the free, multiplatform, compatible program OpenOffice.org.
