You can open XLS files to view and edit using Microsoft Excel if you have it.
Otherwise, you can open XLS files for viewing only (you cannot edit the file) using the free Microsoft Excel Viewer.
Alternatively, you can open XLS files for viewing and editing using the free, multiplatform, compatible program OpenOffice.org.
